The smell of the moss, the green hues used to be soothing to her senses. However, that day they pricked her soul. The chill ran through her body at the sight. But her crimson coat obediently covered her goosebumps. The forest was never silent. But today an eerie silence, almost a sinister silence, had engulfed the forest.
Her eyes were fixated at the base of the oak’s trunk since she didn’t dare to look up. The fear flowed through her veins and poured through her eyes in the form of tears.
The animals followed the rules. It was human who rebelled, who fought the unholy battle and justified their acts.

It followed the rules of nature, submitted to its fate, accepted its destiny. The autumn was not far, and the deciduous tree had started the preparation already. Despite knowing that it would be the last autumn, it would ever see. Still, neither it tried to hold on to its leaves, or held any grudges. It respectfully followed nature’s law.
She could not run. What she lacked in strength, she made up in courage. And though it required all her energy, she slowly mustered the courage and looked up. The silhouette of a man was unmistakable. It had left the body but had not left the world yet. The Ghost audaciously defied nature’s laws.

Oh God, Priya, what a description. Now I will have the nightmares of the upside hanging ghost. I remember watching a small snippet from the movie Conjuring where there are bodies hanging from the tree, that image is still with me after years and still so powerful and scary.
Thank you, Anshu.
I had a crazy idea, even I got scared. Trust me, this is a softer version 😉
Scary. lovely description!

Oh Lord, will think twice before going on a nature’s trail, alone ever! Spookiest best Priya and at the same time so philosophical.
It can be scary to wander in the woods alone. I am glad that you liked it, Anagha. Thank you for reading and commenting
