Autumn is a beautiful season, as beautiful as its name. The hues of the withered leaves look spectacular. The wind blows to play a symphony. And guess what… autumn makes a perfect backdrop for a story. So today we present an autumn Gif prompt to stir your imagination. 

The rules are simple:

  • Write a story, complete in itself.
  • Check spelling, grammar, and punctuation.

  • The story should be up to 250 words.

War And Peace

How the trees can discard their precious ones? She sighed as she looked at the deciduous trees. Alice walked alone on the lonely path covered with orange leaves.  That’s nature, what comes has to go. The thought made her heart heavy. She perched on a twisted trunk of a gnarled tree. A strong gush of wind acknowledged her presence. The ceremonial dance of the breeze provoked the leaves to fall like raindrops. Oblivious of her suffering, nature went on with its vibrant display.

Alessandro had promised, “I will return with a bang and everybody will remember it.” And he did return with a bang accompanied by a platoon, albeit in a casket.

A month had passed since he returned. She finally had worn a colorful dress which she found in his trunk. She knew that he wanted her to move on. She knew she had to let him rest in peace.

Slowly the sun dipped into the west, the darkness engulfed the sky. The war was over, the peace had yet to settle in.
