A Blind Date

“The sign outside says ‘closed'”, hearing the chiming of the wind-chimes, Kia screamed louder than she wanted to.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t realize that. I will leave.” The man apologized.

“It is alright. Come on in, now.” She felt bad for screaming at the poor guy. She looked at him and asked, “What do you want?”

“A pair of sunglasses.” He answered with a child-like smile.

she chuckled at his feeble attempt to make her smile. “This is a book-store”

“So you do smile. You have a lovely smile, has anyone told you that?”

Tucking an unruly lock of hair behind her hair, she replied, “Yes and no.”

With the gesture of his hand, he suggested ‘care to elaborate’ and she answered, “Yes, someone has told me. And no I’m not going to tell you, who. I had a long day. Please tell me what do you want?”

“Do you have “Will You Go For A date With me?” lifting an eyebrow, he asked.

“Has my mom sent you?” She laughed.

“Yes and no”, he replied with a smile. She mimicked his gesture of a minute ago-

“Yes, she did. And no I’m not going to tell you, why.”

“Ah! I know it’s a trap but I guess one date won’t hurt me” She replied trying to sound she had no option.

“Great! See you Friday evening. Put the close sign little early”, he left but not before touching the wind chime.

For once Kia was happy that his mother set her up with someone.
