Her Place

“Kabir, why do you never go to her place? you are in a relationship with her for the last 7 months.” My sister’s words took me six months ago, the day my best friend called me.

“Susie is watching tv, as we speak, Kabir” Sameer’s words startled me.

“Are you with her?”, I almost dropped the phone from my hand.

“No.”

“How do you know?” I asked. Was he hallucinating again?

“Because I am watching her,” he replied in a matter-of-fact tone.

“How?”

“I bugged her house. I suspect she is cheating on me,” he confessed.

This time, I almost fell off my chair. He was right. She is cheating on him, with me.

“How.. how long have you been watching her?” I asked him because I go there almost every day.

“Last night. when she was away, probably with some bas****.” he sounded angry.

I took my phone and typed, he is watching you. he has bugged your house. pretend nothing is wrong.. keep doing chores.. and under the pretext of cleaning the house, tomorrow try to find it.

Next day, she booked the cleaners and got rid of the electronic bug. After a week she broke up with him. But I decided to never to go to her place again.

My sister was still waiting for my answer. I replied, “I .. I like my home better.”
