Rules are simple-
We have a situation prompt- you must have faced this one before, so why not write about it. You have an uninvited guest at a party. Who is it? What is his/her agenda? And what happens next? I hope you find the prompt interesting and challenging. We are always looking for creative ideas/pictures. And we would love it if you contribute. As always, write bold, write unusual! Have Fun!

As the mushroom begin to show its effects, Sam walks in. Almost waltzing in with his usual silly grin. He walks in? How? I nudge my friend, Kriti.
“Who invited him?” I whisper in Kriti’s ears. She shakes her head in a no, but I know it is her, it has to be her.
I look in his direction, thankfully he is not there anymore.
Sigh! I remember last time when I saw him. That day, he broke up with me. He left me for someone else. It came as a shock, completely unexpected.
I look at Kriti, she is nodding and saying something. I don’t understand what she is trying to say.
Kriti understands me. She knows that I have not got my closure yet. She has seen me crying for Sam, night after night, every night. It has been two years. Two years? Have I been crying every night for the last two years? What is wrong with me? Who does that? Kriti has been asking questions a lot. When will you move on, Lily? I know the answer. Till I find someone else. The void needs to be filled.
I know what you are thinking, why do I need a man to complete myself? I don’t have an answer. I wish you had the answer. You are supposed to be the smart one? Reading stories, writing stories? You are the uninvited, the invisible guest, yet the welcome guest. Change my narrative, Can you?

It’s not that she needs a man to complete her. She needs love to complete her. We all do.
I couldn’t agree more. She needs help too. Thank you, Nobbin

Very clever Priya. making us all agony aunts! Nice job! I’ll bite.
Why not? If that’s what you need then you do. Everybody has weaknesses and something they need. Doesn’t mean life stops without it, but doesn’t mean the yearning completely goes away either. As long as life goes on, it’s just a part of life and adds colour and depth to it.
Thanks, Kanika for playing along.
I knew I had to make my protagonist talk directly to my readers, someday . I have been waiting for the opportunity.
She needs to have self respect. And she needs help.
It’s OK to pine for a man/person. Hope she gets over it soon. Weed doesn’t make a person happy, just keeps him numb. Liked the last line 🙂
Thanks Anshu. She has depression. I hope she gets the help that she needs
Crying for two years who left you for another woman! Time to move on. This is the moment.
Definitely.. hope she does soon.
