One gloomy night, she sees an image outside the window. The Image looks scary to her.
Startled, she covers her mouth and hides in a corner.
She doesn’t have the courage to look again.
On the other end of the dusty pane, an equally terrified soul sits silently.

Strong on evoking imagination.
Thanks, Jaya.
Both are terrified of each other. What they see?
There could be several interpretations. ‘terrified of each other’ is definitely one of the interpretations. Thank you 🙂
Distorted images and distorted opinions. Nicely done, Priya.
Thank you, Varad.
Oh how frightening! I’m so curious what each saw, which was the apparition and which wasn’t.
Yeah. well, whatever it was. the fear is in the mind. It’s all in the mind. It’s all your imagination 🙂 Thank you for stopping by
Two sides of a story. Well written.
True. Thanks, Srivalli 🙂
Interesting! Would love to know who the terrified soul outside is!
I’m sure she had her reasons. Maybe they both are one and the same & she is terrified of herself. Maybe they are scared of each other. maybe she is a little different in the other universe. Which interpretation do you like the most? 🙂
Wow..both being the same is an amazing idea!
Thank you. I appreciate your comment 😊
You have nicely evoked both the images Priya! Both are equally scared of what they saw!!
Thanks, Anshu. 🙂

So much in so fewer words !! The other side of the pane was a he or she or an imagination?
There can be different interpretations to it. May be they are one and the same.. may be they both are scared of each other . Or may be the other person is a reflection or as you said figment of imagination. Take your pick😊
Thanks, Neha
That twist at the end 🙂 … I am petrified of horror stories but love to read it hehehe.
😁I am glad you enjoy. I don’t enjoy reading.. but it’s fun to write them😉

Oh..my goodness…who was it?
It is like Erin Hanson said “What if I fall? Oh, but my darling, what if you fly?”
Unfamiliarity is scary.
